Interleaved 2 of 5 encodes numeric strings. All ITF bar codes contain numbers that are an even number of digits long. If a string is an odd number of digits in length, a leading "0" is added to it. Interleaved 2 of 5 is unique because both the bars and spaces encode information, and is said to be self-checking and doesn't require a check digit. The fonts are in TrueType and Type 1 PostScript format.
